Public/Media Relations & Membership Committee Meeting

I.The meeting was called to order at 2:13 PM.
II.The following Senators were present at the meeting:
Brijesh Garg
Ignacio Marin Garcia
Keyur Gada
Arunkumar Dubey
Vishal Sheth
Tina Penman
Vice President Jain announced that Tina Penman would be the Secretary of the Committee.
III.Media
*Vice President Jain asked for suggestions and improvements for the GPSA Website.
-There should be a vertical bar on the left hand side.
-There should also be a counter for the website. Senator Garcia volunteered to assist.
-We also need updated photos on the website.
-If there are any other suggestions, please send them to Ashish.
*Vice President Jain also asked for ideas involving Facebook.
-Facebook should be used to reach out to other graduate students.Senator Penman volunteered to help.
-Facebook should also be used to spread the word about the President's Forum.
-This message should be sent out to ALL graduate students, even the graduate students that are not currently in the GPSA Facebook Group.
IV.Public Relations
*Vice President Jain announced that he needs a lot of help doing work for the President's Forum.
-Senator Dubey and Senator Gada volunteered to help with posting signs.
-Vice President Jain said he would help create a general logo and poster for the President's Forum.
V.Membership
*Vice President Jain announced that there must be more recruitment events to get more Senators and graduate students out to events.
-There are a few more senator spots open.
-We can encourage other graduate students to attend GPSA Events.
VI.Open Forum
*The Senator badges need to be more catchy and bold.
*We need to let every Graduate Student know about the President's Forum on 10/31.
*We need one more committee meeting before the forum on 10/31.
VII.The meeting was adjourned by Vice President Ashish at 2:43 PM.
